Deductive teaching Strategy

In today's class we were provided with a lesson plan on the topic, Antonyms and Synonyms using Deductive teaching strategy.
The decussion that we had yesterday and the lesson plan that was provided to us was matching.
It is mainly becauses through yesterday's class we knew that there are four phases namely,
  1. presentation of abstraction
  2. teacher illustrates with examples
  3. students gives examples of the concepts and apply them in new situation
  4. and students restates teh concept or the definition that they have learnt.
and the lesson plan is according to that.
  1.  Firstly, the teacher is giving the definition of antonym and synonym and few examples. later he/sheis presenting the definition and the examples using a projector.
  2. Secondly, the teacher gives different adjective word and then ask the students to identify whether the word belongs to antonym or synonym. later the teacher ask questions to guide the students to get accurate answer.
  3. Thirdly, the teacher asks the students to give additional examples.
  4. And finally, the teacher asks the students to sum up what they have learntby defining the two terms and giving the example.
Finally we were asked to prepare a lesson plan on any topic in IT or English subject using Inductive teaching strategy.
